Logging in to Tradocs launches a pop-up window. This is a security feature of Tradocs, which protects the privacy of all Tradocs users and their data.
Pop-up windows can be annoying and sometimes malicious. Accordingly, in recent years, Internet Explorer and various internet security programs have begun blocking these. Unfortunately some pop-up blockers are not yet able to distinguish between harmful pop-up windows and the legitimate pop-ups in use by advanced internet services such as Tradocs.
This is an easy issue to fix. All pop-up blocker includes an option to add 'allowed sites'. Once Tradocs is added to this list then the application will launch as normal.
The most common symptoms of the application being blocked by a pop-up blocker include:
- After logging in via your access portal, a new window is opened but the window is empty accept for the Tradocs header (logo) and the wording 'your browser back button has been disabled'.
- After entering a password when following a link to view a document from an email alert we have sent you, the window is empty accept for the Tradocs header (logo) and the wording 'your browser back button has been disabled'.
Pop-up blockers can be overcome as follows:
In Internet Explorer on Windows XP (very common)
- If a pop-up is blocked then there will be a yellow bar displayed across the top of the screen telling the user a pop-up has been blocked.
- Click the mouse on this bar and three options will be displayed.
- Select 'always allow pop-ups from this site' from these options.
- The page will automatically be refreshed and the application will open.
Using the menu bar in Internet Explorer
- Select 'tools - pop-up blocker' from the menu bar
- From the options displayed, choose 'pop-up blocker settings'
- Add '*.tradocs.net' to the exceptions list.
- The application will now launch as normal.
Through installed internet security software.
The two most common anti-virus/internet security programs are Norton and MacAfee. Both of these programs contain pop-up blockers or Ad-blockers as they are called in these programs.
Tradocs will need to be added to an allowed list in these programs. The procedure for this depends on the version of the software installed, and you should refer to the IT support responsible for your network for instructions on doing this.
